Designer Show Home 2011

A Benefit for the Children's Cancer Center

For the very first time, BungalowFest 2011 included a Designer Show Home. All proceeds ($4711.00) from a gala opening and ticket sales to this property  were donated to the Children's Cancer Center, a local Tampa Bay non-profit organization whose mission is to help children with cancer and chronic blood disorders. The Historic Kenwood Neighborhood Association is extremely excited to have supported this worthwhile cause.

To ensure the show home's success, we planned a Designer Show Home like no other! With the creative help of Stephen LeBlanc and eleven of the area's top designers and design showrooms, this Designer Show Home featured four separate apartment homes in two historic, recently-restored dwellings located at 2460 Burlington Ave. N. in Historic Kenwood, St. Petersburg. All of the apartments contained high-end furnishings. In addition, balconies and courtyard between the two buildings were also on display.

A special Gala Preview Party and fundraiser was held at the Designer Show Home on Friday, Nov 4 from 6pm-9:30pm to celebrate the beginning of "BungalowFest - A Celebration of Art and Architecture." The Gala included a preview Show Home tour, a designer meet-and-greet, and a fantastic bounty of delicious treats and beverages catered by En Garde Catering and Gourmet Services.

Major thanks to Bob Jeffrey and his sister Lynn Jeffrey

The owners of the Designer Show Home apartments purchased what had been a sadly neglected property and turned it into a marvelous renovation and neighborhood addition. Bob is an Historic Kenwood founder and preservation specialist and has rehabilitated numerous properties in the neighborhood.
