The annual Booker Creek Park Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, March 25th. We will meet at 8:00 A.M. at one of the picnic shelters on the 13th Avenue N side of the Park.
From North Kenwood who is hosting this year:
Once again, we will be joined by volunteers from Historic Kenwood and representatives of the City's Parks & Recreation & Stormwater teams to help clean up around and in the lake. As volunteers, we will not be entering the lake; however, the Stormwater crew will bring a boat to remove trash and dead vegetation. If there are enough volunteers, we should be done rather quickly. Also, all volunteer hours will be tracked and will be applied toward a City grant that will help us purchase new neighborhood signage.
A continental breakfast will be provided; along with lunch for those who are still around.
It is recommended that all volunteers wear closed-toed shoes, bring gloves (if you have them), and use sunscreen and/or bug repellent if desired. Buckets, "grabbers" are also greatly appreciated.
This continues to be a rewarding and fun activity that brings us together with our neighbors and friends while keeping our wonderful park clean. We hope to see you there!
