Founder's Day

Historic Kenwood Founder's Day event in Seminole Park

FOUNDER'S DAY CELEBRATION

Each year, Kenwoodians celebrate Founder's Day with an informal gathering in Seminole Park. Music, merriment, food, beverages, garden club signups, and just visiting brings neighbors together for a pleasant afternoon.

KENWOOD FOUNDER CHARLES R. HALL

Charles R. Hall, one of the top real estate developers in early St. Petersburg, established the Historic Kenwood neighborhood in 1912. He purchased and developed the 160-acre tract situated between 25th and 31st Streets from 1st Avenue South to 5th Avenue North. He donated one square block to the city, which became Seminole Park — adding a family atmosphere to his development.
