Celebrating Art and Architecture
|
Always the first Saturday in November, BungalowFest continues to the the premier event of its kind in Historic Kenwood, St. Petersburg's Neighborhood of the Arts. This is Historic Kenwood's most popular yearly offering. Last years' BungalowFest Home Tour provided an opportunity to tour ten charming restored cottages, including the Designer Show Home, a 1938 two bedroom/one bath plus study and family room Tudor style home. Six design professionals did their magic inside and out to make this an extra-special melding of art and architecture for all to enjoy. In addition, St. Petersburg High School had graciously agreed to be on tour offering visitors a rare opportunity to see examples of its mid-1920s Mediterranean revival style architecture. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of tickets to BungalowFest 2012 were be donated to to selected charities including Pinellas Safe Harbor, Suncoast Hospice Foundation and Pinellas County Job Corps.
